This is the prompt:
Aldous Huxley wrote Brave New World Revisited in 1958. He offers various warnings and projections concerning the direction he thinks the world will be headed generations into the future, i.e., NOW. Judging from the entire book, but focusing primarily on four chapters (i.e., Chapter 4: “Propaganda in a Democratic Society,” Chapter 5: “Propaganda Under a Dictatorship,” Chapter 6: “The Arts of Selling,” and Chapter 7: “Brainwashing”), address this question: How accurate were Huxleys projections? Cite specifics from Huxleys text and compare or contrast them to specific current events. (This shouldnt be difficult, as youve been keeping up with the news every week as part of your Op-Ed assignments.) It would be wise to cite specific ideas from Huxleys text, but you need not quote directly. If you do quote directly, however, remember to follow proper MLA format. Your response should be 3-4 pages long in standard essay format. I’m not requiring a lot of pages, so try to make them count. Remember: An essay is not one long paragraph! Needless to say (and yet I feel compelled to say it anyway), an essay consists of an introduction, multiple body paragraphs, a conclusion, and a Works Cited page! And remember to give the essay a creative title!
