Read the following article which is located in Units 11 and 12:
Butts, J.B., Rich, K.L., & Fawcett, J. (2012). The future of nursing: How important is discipline-specific knowledge? A conversation with Jacqueline Fawcett. Nursing Science Quarterly, 25(2), 151-154. doi: 10.1177/0894318412437955.
Butts, Rich, and Fawcett (2012) ask us to consider, whether the discipline of nursing will survive, given the movement of nursing toward an interdisciplinary practice framework (p. 154).
Please note that the authors are not taking a position regarding interdisciplinary practice but rather an interdisciplinary practice framework. There is a difference between these two.
Brainstorm in your group and take a position on the following statement,

Conduct all brainstorming in your group in the Class Discussion forum entitled, Group Assignment Discipline Specific Knowledge. Group membership will be assigned by the professor. Each group will prepare one response to the assignment. Once the group reaches consensus, one member of the group posts the assignment into the assignment link in Unit 13. The submitted assignment will be graded according to the criteria below. Each member of the group will earn a grade for his/her individual contribution to the assignment. Each students final grade for the assignment will be the average of the two grades.
