8 QUOTES! AND NO PLOT SUMMARY PLEASE ANALYZE EACH PLAY!

write a 3-4 page essay comparing some aspect of the two plays we have studied. This is to be in a standard essay format:
    12 font
Standard font: Times New Roman, Calibri, etc.
    Double-spaced
    MLA format
Includes a Works Cited page at the end (this does not count as on of your pages)
Conventional English Grammar (avoid contractions ex: dont, cant, etc)
Contain at least 4 quotes from EACH play (total of 8) and all quotes explained
The number of paragraphs does not matter, but a good structure might be to have an introduction, then a long paragraph about play #1, a long paragraph about play #2, a longer paragraph about BOTH plays, and a conclusion.

The first draft of this essay is due Wednesday, May 26th, Final draft is due May 31st.

    Essay Topics:

You can choose from the topics below or one of your choice:
The American dream: How do the families in either play attempt to make sense of the American dream? In what ways is it elusive to both? How does race play a part?
Father-son relationships: In what ways are they similar? Different? How do the very specific ideas of the fathers impact the sons futures?
The role of the women in both plays: How are Linda and Rose similar? Different? Are they feminists? Do women have a voice in the plays? How do they help drive the plot forward?
Infidelity: How does either mans infidelities impact the action of the play? The kids? Their family dynamics?
Choose just the sons: Compare and contrast the characters Biff and Lyons, and Happy and Cory. Or, Biff and Cory, Happy and Lyons, etc.
Finally, Compare and Contrast Willy and Troy. Are they great men? How are they similar? Different? Are they Tragic Heroes who fell from grace?

Lastly, this is an analysis, not a book report. Do not give me a plot summary. I know what happens in both plays. I need you to analyze the characters, themes, language, etc. If you are telling me what happened, you are not analyzing. Please make sure to explain why things are the way they are, or why the author chose a specific action, device, character, etc.
